We all desire to have a life of MORE.
The book of Proverbs from the Bible falls into a genre of writing common across the ancient world known as Wisdom Literature – which generally focused on how to live a rich and fulfilling life, often in very practical ways. For millennia people everywhere have searched for how to ‘Live life to the fullest’ … to get More.
We still see this today so much in popular culture – so many songs, books, so many movies and shows about getting more out of life. It’s not just about whether we live or die BUT the importance of how we live.
Unlike other ancient wisdom literature (e.g. Egyptian) which provides human philosophies of how to live, Proverbs gives us a God-inspired, God-infused vision of a ‘life of more’.
At the heart of Proverbs chapter 3 lies a key to how we may experience a life of “more” that comes from God.
Trust in the Lord completely,
Proverbs 3:5-6 (TPT)
and do not rely on your own opinions.
With all your heart rely on him to guide you,
and he will lead you in every decision you make.
Become intimate with him in whatever you do
and he will lead you wherever you go.
