“For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.”
Jesus (Matthew 18:20, NLT)
‘Church’ is far more than a Sunday meeting!
Getting along to “big” church gatherings is encouraging and good for our spiritual wellbeing, but there are other important ways we build our friendship with God and each other.
One vehicle for spiritual growth, mutual ministry, and an increased sense of beloning is through our Life Groups.

A community of faith; being the ‘family of God’ and ‘body of Christ’
The dynamic life of the early church was based on the way the believers’ lives became interwoven through caring for each other. They gathered in meetings to listen to the Apostles teaching about Jesus, and then they proved the power of that message by the love that was displayed in the fledgling Christian community. It was an opportunity for everyone to give and receive the love of God expressed in real-life everyday practice.
All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.
A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.
Acts 2:42-47
It is clear that it’s not an “either-or” situation between all gathering together or meeting in homes and small groups – we need both! So why not join a Life Group and explore how you fit into the community and family of Lifeway Church?
