Four times in the Bible it says to hate evil and cling to what is good. How much do we embrace that as God’s best for our lives, for the path to joy and blessing? Or do succumb to the desires of the flesh to cling to old ways of seeking false satisfactions?
Psalm 97:10 says, “those who love the Lord hate evil”.
Proverbs 8:13 says, “to fear the Lord is to hate evil”.
Amos 5:15 – “hate evil, love what is good, maintain justice in the courts”.
And the fourth time is Romans 12:9, which says, “love must be sincere, hate what is evil, cling to what is good.”
Anyone who believes and trusts in Jesus has been given the HOLY Spirit as the power to choose what is good and to reject sin, to live in the blessing and fruitfulness of a life of obedience to God. A heart submitted to Jesus knows that obedience, confession, and repentance are part of a daily walk with God.
