The parable of the growing seed (Mark 4:26-29) is another great parable that Jesus told to show us what the Kingdom of God is like. In these 3 verses, there is a lot of profound truth. Just before this parable, Jesus says twice: “Let those who have ears to hear, let them hear.” He is clarifying with His listeners that we are to have our spiritual ears tuned in to hear what He is saying.
In the parable of the growing seed, Jesus shows us that God’s Kingdom does not operate as we may expect. His Kingdom has things set in place, and we need to trust the process – trust the King of the Kingdom. This message is one of hope and one of invitation to trust.
The three points I bring out in this message are:
– Allow the seed, the Word of God, to be planted in you.
– Trust the process.
– Be the man who sows the seed for others.
