Hi Lifeway friends!
A very Happy New Year to you all – 2022 is here!!! This is a time for us to re-focus, continuing to fix our eyes on Jesus and remain centred on what He is setting before us. We feel that in 2022 the Lord is asking us to dedicate ourselves to a supernatural lifestyle of prayer, worship, and discipleship in the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus has always been, and always will be, about these things! Let’s follow Father, Son and Holy Spirit into 2022 and be ready and excited for what’s ahead.
Leadership Team – some of you may have missed this important piece of news that we announced in November; we now have a local leadership team for Lifeway. We took a lot of time seeking the Lord on who He was highlighting to us, and we also sought wisdom and guidance from Ps Josh and the Eldership at our Hornsby church too, and so we have been very excited to announce to the church that our leadership team is made up of: Werner Egger, Adam Dodds, Karen Vanderzee, Mike Foy and Aaron Culbertson. We will be having a commissioning service on Sunday 20th February where Ps Josh Wengi (from our sister church in Hornsby) will be with us and will pray over the leadership team with us.
Our Gathering place – the last couple of years have felt like a time of ‘wandering’ due to constant changing of rules and restrictions from Covid-19. We’ve ‘zoomed’ and live-streamed, gathered in homes, on the beach, in small groups, tried the Seniors Facility, gone back to the Emerald Downs hall, and then finished off 2021 meeting at Port Anglican! It has been a testing time, a time of refining, and to some degree operating in ‘maintenance mode’. But during the whole time, we know that our Father has been with us, faithfully working in our midst.
So kicking off with 2022, we have some exciting news!
Firstly, for the 3 Sundays in January (16th, 23rd, 30th), we will be meeting back at the Emerald Downs hall but then from February onwards we have secured one of the halls at the Salvation Army church on Lord street. It is a great venue and includes a kitchenette and an enclosed outdoor playground for the kids. Ourselves and the leadership team all went to see it together in December, and we all felt such a peace as we walked around. The captains, Peter and Rebecca Gott, are so happy that part of their venue can be used by another church to build the Kingdom. So from the beginning of February, we will be meeting there at 4pm each Sunday.
“…let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.”
Hebrews 12:1-2 [NIV]
With love,
Dave & Caroline
